I can see the light...

I felt that it would be kind of pointless to sit here and write a blog about how meaningful and beautiful tattoo's can be, because they are, and almost everyone knows it. However, I did want to touch base on a type of tattooing that not everyone is familiar with.

UV light tattoos.

It is exactly what it sounds like. UV light tattoos, or glow in the dark tattoos, are tattoos done with special ink that is only seen under black light. It's actually kind of a cool idea because if you are one of those people who like the idea of getting a tattoo but you don't want people to see it or you have a professional job that won't let you, it's perfect for your situation. These UV tattoos are seen only in UV light and yet seem almost invisible in everyday light.

Unfortunately, UV light tattooing has not always had a great reputation, and the artists who did tattoo people with the UV ink did not like to admit it. It was said that the UV ink contained phosphorous and was believed to have caused quite a bit of health problems. However, that was many years ago and now there is a new type of ink that is completely harmless. According to TattooArtists.org, having done research in persons who've had UV ink tattoo's for over 10 years, they are one of the most safest types of tattooing out there. According to the website, it does not cause cancer and it is not radio active so that's a plus! The only problem with this kind of tattooing is finding an artist who will do it. While some artists are still probably alittle sketched out about the idea of doing a tattoo that may later come back and bite them in the ass because they are harmful, some artists have adopted the new technique of UV tattooing and embrace it.

Well I hope that I shed a little bit of light when it comes to UV tattooing. It's one of the most safest types of tattooing out there and it's definitely a plus if you are into tattoo's but your professional life is keeping you from getting one. It's a bummer that the artists who will do it are hard to find but I can guarantee with a little research and hard work, finding a skilled artist to do a great job is not impossible.
Until Later,
Bianca

This is really cool! I haven't met anyone with this type of tat, but I heard so uch about it. Yea it would be a little challenging finding someone to do this kind of tat, but if someone really wants it would do whatever it takes!
