jewelry itself will never heal and being to slowly start pushing itself up towards the surface until the piercing barely has anything to hang on to anymore and simply comes out. Other piercings that have that risk are belly button piercings and of course surface piercings. Surface piercings however are a completely different story. Unlike regular piercings, surface piercings are one long bar that is pierced completely under the surface of someones skin. To the right is a picture of different sized surface piercing jewelry. With this kind of jewlery and peircing advancement, it is giving people alot more options of what they can piercing on their body. Surface piercings can easily be done almost anywhere on someones body, most common are; neck, clavicals, wrists, and even cheek. Unfortuantely the risk of rejection is high because of the usual placement of the piercing. With alot of movement in the area, it does not give the jewelry alot of time to heel and more often then not, rejection occurs. I have enough scars on my body to prove it. Although my body is not one for healing piercings all that great, I do have mulitple friends who have sucessfully healed surface piercings so all hope is not lost!I know that I probably havent made piercings sound like the most fun but I promise you there is a reason so many people get them.
Well guys, until next time!

Do people get an infection if their body rejects a piercing?
No, rejection doesn't neccessarily mean infect but if it does reject, you definitly want to keep it clean still since it is still an open wound.
